Canoe loader works well, October 24, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Reese Towpower 7018100 Canoe Loader (Automotive) I bought this product to haul my new 13.5 foot kayak with my truck. The canoe loader works well with my existing roof rack to securely haul my kayak. The canoe rack moves around more than I would like but adding tie downs to both sides keeps it snug.

Do not use the plate to mount it on a receiver with a ball. Instead, spend a few extra dollars and buy an extra receiver to use with it. Also, if you're using it on a SUV that has a rear window that lifts up, you will not be able to open the window all the way. To remedy this problem, get a receiver extender: Curt Manufacturing 45789 Receiver Adapter/Extender. Otherwise, you'll end up having to take the loader off to open the window. All that being said, this loader works exactly as described. It makes loading and unloading your canoe a breeze.
